Gratitude
As we transition to spring, a time of renewal and growth, it is a wonderful time to reflect on what we are grateful for. Did you know that writing can give you the benefits of relaxation and mindfulness? It can also sharpen your focus and help you connect on a regular basis with your inner gratitude.
Sometimes trying to fill up a blank page can seem overwhelming. Here are some writing prompts to help you move through your writers block and truly access your gratitude.
Writing Prompt 1
Take a moment to reflect on the last day, or the last week. If you could pick a moment or experience to relive, what would it be? What was it about this experience that brought you contentment, happiness, joy, peace or whatever is most valuable to you?
Writing Prompt 2
Write a letter of thanks and gratitude to someone who had a positive impact on your life and may not know they did. How would your life be different if you hadn’t interacted with them? What are the ways you are grateful for them?
Writing Prompt 3
Consider three ways that you can express gratitude to yourself and others on a daily basis. Be specific. How would these gestures of gratitude transform your daily life? How would they make those you interact with feel? What gets in your way of expressing your gratitude everyday?
“There’s no happier person than a truly thankful, content person.” —Joyce Meyer
